IMERETI

The regional centre is the second biggest city in Georgia - Kutaisi, which, besides, was the capital of West-Georgian Kingdoms of Imereti, Abkhazeti etc. Among the most famous historical sites are The Bagrati (10th century A.D.) and The Gelati (12th century A.D.) Cathedrals. There are also famous resort places - Tskaltubo and Sairme. Imeretians are famous for their hospitality and great sense of humour.
